Aromas del Valle, or Scents of the Valley, refers to the Dota Valley, in the heart of Tarrazu, the fifth canton in the province of Jan Jose. Farmers in Santa Maria de Dota enjoy the most abundant harvests in the country, averaging 3,800 pounds per hectare. Farms are prolific but small, with average farm sizes around 3.5 hectares (8.6 acres). During the harvest season, from November through March, farms bustle with activity as more than 780,000 bushels of rich, ripe cherries are hand harvested and brought to local receiving stations. Beneficio San Diego is the most modern and one of the largest mills in Costa Rica. It was established in 1888 and now specializes in the Tarrazu and Tres Rios areas. It takes pride in striving for ever-increasing efficiency and quality standards, while working closely with producers to ensure good community relations and sustainable production for years to come.

Inconsistent bean sizes and stones in the mix

I'm just a hobbyist at this point so keep that in mind. This is my first time ordering this much of a single bean. I find the bean sizes all over the place, I've never experienced such inconsistency in any other green been in my three years home roasting. I've also already found 2 stones in the beans and I'm not even halfway through. Quality control is not great on this lot. I can get a decent cup if I roast to full city, but anything less comes out extremely sour and acidic
<br> Again, I'm no pro so it may be my profile, but my other beans don't seem to have the same problem. I'm hesitant to order from here again

Great coffee beans

The beans are well sorted with a rich, green color and uniform size. The bean is one of my favorite, go-to coffees.

Roast darker = more chocolate

I recommend Full City to Full City+. Harmonious chocolate and sugary notes come through on the darker roast
