Huila is currently the largest producer of coffee in Colombia. However, its development was unconventional and unlike other regions such as Antioquia, Santander or Cundinamarca.

Abundant labor from Huila, traveled to traditional coffee producing provinces to work as pickers. When they returned to their homeland, they brought not only money, but also coffee beans and knowledge.

The Municipality of Garzón is located in the center of Huila Province. With 6838 coffee farms and 8508 hectares dedicated to coffee farming, Garzón’s economy centers around coffee. Coffee comprises 45% of the agro income in the region, and 78% of the labor for the locals. The average farm size is 3.5 hectares, but average coffee area is only 1.5 hectares.

Garzón receives between 1300 to 1600 millimeters of rainfall per year, with dry periods December to February and June to September. There is also an important hydric deficit from July to September.

GREAT SMOOTH COFFEE

This is the best smoothest coffee we have tried. It takes 5 spoons in a drip coffee maker and we feel that it will suit our customers in Montana, Idaho, & Washington. My partner Diaz sister lives in that town. Thank you for this coffee. The beans are very simular in size which helps to roast evenly.

Great coffee! Balanced and complex. Great as a light/ medium roast as a breakfast coffee. We liked it best about 1 Minute into First crack. Drop temp of 410 at 10:30 minutes. It has a lively brightness as when brewed through both paper filter as well as a single origin espresso.

Great breakfast coffee. Medium roast 1.45 min after first crack. smooth balanced caramel notes. Seems to please customers of NY mid state.

Top Notch Old School Flavor Profile.

I have a tendency towards exotic unique single origins. But my family and many friends prefer a mainstream style coffee. This filled the bill perfectly. Rich and full bodied and very appealing. After a couple roasts I suddenly noticed that stretching out the end of the roast just a touch brought out even more rich depth in the flavor. So I just ordered a second box to be sure it lasted a while. Otherwise my closest customers will stop talking to me. LOL.
