San Vicente Pacaya has multiple micro climates which are perfect for coffee production. Weather is hot during the day but it cools down during the night providing an excellent opportunity for the coffee beans to develop complex chocolate notes. Producers in San Vicente take careful steps in picking ripe and uniform cherries. Regional mills have strict wet milling practices. This coffee comes from Jorge Perea, a third generation coffee producer. In one of his farms the rumbling noise of bee nests sound in the distance. In between the coffee crops apricot trees make a delicious treat. Don Francisco Ramirez Escobar, "Don Chicon", also contributed to this lot. Recently, due to his age, Don Chicon asked his nephew Alfonso "Ponchito" to help out on his farm activities. Ponchito built a mill in 2014, which they have operated for two crops with great success.

Very nice coffee

We sampled several offering from Guatemala available on the site and this one definitely stood out. Medium/heavy body with buttery mouthfeel. Distinct chocolate and caramelized sugar notes build with roast. Subtle tart cherry hints in light to medium roast levels. Well balanced and smooth cup. Not quite as robust in character and flavor as some higher scoring offerings we've come across but overall a good representation of quality guatemalan coffee.

A “necessary” bean for my blend.

This is a great bean! I take it to FC+ and blend it with a bean from Honduras. It has become part of what I call, “The Perfect Blend.”
Heavy body, and strong dark chocolate notes. So much so, that a friend, who has cream in his coffee said, without knowing this, “I think I taste a chocolate.”
Good stuff.

I agree this coffee is a great representation from Guatemala, which happens to be one of my personal favorite origins. I smell chocolate every time it's brewing. This is in our breakfast blend and we get constant requests for it.

Crowd Pleaser

Stands on its own as a single-origin and also great with blends. It is sweet but not too sweet, rich and chocolatey. Buttery mouth feel and even makes great SO espresso with impressive crema. Don't hesitate on this one!

Smooth and Delicious

Delicious cup of coffee. We roasted it 10-15 seconds into second crack. It is smooth and sweet....chocolatey - just what we were looking for. We tried many samples and this was the one we were serving for. We are home roasters, for our own enjoyment. Everyone we have served this coffee to compliments us on how wonderful it tastes! Easy to drink, anytime of day.

Outstanding Coffee

We sampled many coffee's from all over the world from Genuine Origin. This Guatemala coffee is one that definitely stood out. Heavy body with buttery mouthfeel. Distinct chocolate and caramelized sugar notes, balanced and just a smooth cup. Overall a good quality of coffee.

Can’t believe I found this great coffee.

In my humble opinion, this is a fantastic product at a very affordable price. Also would like to remind the bean and mother nature plice people that yes coffee is a natural product and yes you occasionally you will find a stone among the beans, and yes some beans are slightly smaller than others . I’d like to go against the believe that uniformity makes perfection. Mother nature is a fantastic machine full of imperfections perfect because of those last. Enjoy coffee with out conditioning.
