This blend of AB coffee was curated by Taylor Winch Tanzania, our sister company in Tanzania. Taylor Winch works closely with numerous coops offering technical and agronomic support. This lot is a blend of AB coffees from some of the strongest coops in Tanzania's Mbinga and Mbeya regions. The Iyenga Cooperative currently has 172 smallholder members and a combined production of 45 metric tons of green coffee. When the collaboration with Taylor Winch started in 2014 Iyenga was selling through the public auction at mainstream prices. Today they have specialty buyers all around the world and they are building a name. Iyenga took 1st place in the 2018/19 Tanzania Coffee Board, Taste of Harvest Competition. Mwalyego Cooperative was registered in 1993 and currently has 164 farmers producing an average of 35/40mt. Since they started their partnership with Taylor Winch they have realized considerable improvements year over year. In 2018 Mwalyego took 6th position in the 2018/19 Tanzania Taste of the Harvest competition. Kimuli Cooperative was started in 1993 serving 9 villages with 3 washing stations. In 1998 they started working with Taylor Winch on agronomy trainings, processing and certification. They are focused on quality and continue to invest in and improve their 3 washing stations.

Juicy grapes

Just got my sample in yesterday, finally got the time to roast it today. My roaster is still cooling down as I am writing this so I didn't wait at all to try the coffee. It has some juicy flavors to me, the grape hit me after the first couple sips. I roasted it to about 420 degrees before dropping in the cooling tray. I will definitely be ordering some.

Chocolate, molasses, and plum - very sweet!

Recently got my bag of Tanzania AB and just started playing around with roast profiles. In the roaster this coffee is very volatile after first crack and overall moisture loss has been higher than other coffees I've roasted - assuming this is because it is so fresh.<br><br>Taste wise the GO description is pretty accurate. I'm tasting chocolate, molasses, and plum. Haven't really got grape or raspberry yet. It's clean and I'm blown away by how sweet this coffee is. I even tried pulling espresso shots of alight roast I did and it had a very balanced and pleasing acidity, definitely not an acid bomb. Should work well as an SO espresso. Still have to experiment with some darker roasts. Definitely recommend.
