Perfect for cold brew, Nicaragua Jinotega is a traditional Strictly High Grown coffee. This coffee is great for blends or as a substitute for a Guatemalan coffee because of its body and rich, dark chocolate characteristics. This lot was sourced from small producers. All participating producers wet milled and fermented their coffee at their own farms. The coffee was then dry milled in a central location to guarantee uniformity.

Solid cup!

We took a pass on buying our usual Costa Rica beans this season, because ever since the Cup of Excellence win we find the farmers egging each other on to ask for more and more money for their beans, despite not doing any different from previous seasons. Seems to be a Costa Rica gold rush on beans or something. We tried this Jinotega because we needed a coffee in a similar profile for existing blends, and we already get some coffees from that region which are excellent. Turns out that this coffee does fill that niche, and is even better right off the roast than our previous Costa Rica (which needed rest to develop), which has its advantages. This is a very balanced and pleasant cup with nice chocolate tones and good retention. We'll be buying a lot more of it.

Great roasting and drinking coffee

I love this coffee and my customers love the way it tastes. I have bought 2 or 3 bags of this Jinotega. I will be getting more. My favorite is a City + roast. Very smooth and oh so aromatic.
