Our Guracho Guji comes from the Kercha Washing Station in Guracho. The station is owned by the Hambela Washing Station which works with local farmers to improve quality and productivity.

The Kercha Washing Station and its parent company, Hambela, have been supplying coffee to the auction for over 20 years, but they were only established as a coffee exporter in 2014.

The Guji region is named for one of the tribes of the Oromo and is one of the administrative zones of the Oromia region. The zone was created in 2002 when the uplands of Borena zone were split to create it. The Guji region enjoys ideal coffee growing conditions. Its volcanic soil is bursting with nutrients, creating deep red and brown top-layer of soil. The regions' high altitude, bi-modal rainfall pattern and dry weather allow for the cherries to develop slowly.

Mandarin Orange and Lemongrass Yum!


The flavor profile is pretty spot on. Mandarin Orange and Lemongrass seem to be the top flavors im getting from my 1 sample roast. Im drinking this only 48 hours from roast and its very sweet still. I think this has a lot of room to for me to try different roast levels/development and try to bring out different flavors more but my initial thoughts are this one should be able to nail an awesome roast pretty easily. If your looking for a light body (not too light) with an orange sweet cup this one is for you!

I couldn’t agree more, Good Brothers! The mandarin orange notes knocked me out! I may start experimenting with the roast now as well.



I've been having great results with the Central American coffees roasted to a City Plus that I was hesitant to try the African coffees. Then while on a trip to Italy I found a 3rd wave cafe that was featuring an Ethiopian. Knowing Espresso is King in Italy I had to give it a try. WOW ! call me a convert.
