Ethiopia Washed Guji Grade 1 Hambela 2018
- UPS Flat
- 65lb Freshness
- Packed & Sealed
Our Hambela Guji comes from the Hambela Washing Station in the Guji region of Ethiopia. Hambela operates a coffee plantation and partners with more than 1000 farmers to source coffee. They are committed to working with the local farmers to improve quality and productivity.
Hambela has been supplying coffee to the auction for over 20 years, but was only established as a coffee exporter in 2014. They own 3 washing stations: two in Guracho village and one in Hambela District.
The Guji region is named for one of the tribes of the Oromo and is one of the administrative zones of the Oromia region. The zone was created in 2002 when the uplands of Borena zone were split to create it. The Guji region enjoys ideal coffee growing conditions. Its volcanic soil is bursting with nutrients, creating deep red and brown top-layer of soil. The regions' high altitude, bi-modal rainfall pattern and dry weather allow for the cherries to develop slowly.

Stellar flavors on City+
by Samuel H
Stellar flavors on this coffee. Roasting City+ revealed floral and sweet melon flavors. Juicy citrus accent notes and light jasmine flower aroma. Beautiful single origin coffee - do not blend!
This coffee exhibits what I love about Ethiopian coffees, the florals.
Good quality beans
This beans just like any other Ethiopia beans that l had it before, but this one is really well balanced, l strongly recommend.

I am loving Hambela. I was buying Shakiso because I love naturals, but when that ran out I turned to this other Guji. It's washed coffee, so much diff than Shakiso, but this is how washed coffee ought to be. Please continue to stock this one!
