Don Octavio Morales, a lifelong resident of Huehuetenango, has always been interested in coffee production. He first started producing coffee in 1985, when he bought Los Nanzales with the money he had saved from his corn production and his job as a patio worker on one of the big farms in the area. Don Octavio pays special attention to diversifying his crop and spends a lot of time tending to his coffee plants. With the help of his wife and sons, the coffee farm has continued to expand. They currently have 5.67 hectares of coffee and growing, besides having corn fields and a shoe store in town. (The displayed cupping score represents the most recent re-cupping of this coffee in October 2017.)
