Roughly 900 smallholder farmers deliver red cherry to the Ndimaini factory, one of two wet mills operated by the Gikuyu Farmers Co-operative Society. This coffee from Nyeri County, on the foothills of the Aberdare range and Mt. Kenya, was grown at 1,800 meteres ASL in red volcanic soil rich in organic matter. Ndimaini is the Kikuyu word for a local medicinal herb.
