Guatemala Huehuetenango Organic SHB EP 2022
Huehuetenango Organic Green Coffee Beans
Huehuetenango’s renowned green coffee beans owe much to the dry, hot winds that come in from the mountains of Mexico's Tehuantepec plain. Huehuetenango is the highest and driest of Guatemala's non-volcanic regions. The additional heat layers protect Huehuetenango from frost and enable coffee to grow at altitudes of 2,000 masl.
Most coffee growers in Huehuetenango process their own coffee. Fortunately, the region has rivers and streams in abundance, so mills can be placed almost anywhere.
This certified organic green coffee was grown, picked, processed and packed in accordance with USDA Organic standards.
Guatemala Green Coffee Beans
Rich notes of chocolate and brown sugar make Guatemalan green coffee beans a favorite among coffee roasters. The unroasted coffees owe much to the land, but also to the tenacity of Guatemala’s coffee producers. Growers are constantly looking for better growing conditions: richer soil; advantageous micro-climates; and ideal shade conditions. Farmers are investing in moving to higher grounds to increase their options for growing specialty green coffees and dedicating lands at higher altitudes to planting traditional varietals that produce differentiated cup qualities.
