Hurricane Eta Relief Fund
Hurricane Eta brought extreme flooding to Central America. Tragically, the storm displaced thousands of families including 85 people in our immediate coffee family in Honduras. Due to flooding, those team members, and their families, were forced to leave their homes and lost many of their possessions.
How We Are Helping
Molinos de Honduras, our sister company in Honduras, opened its doors and sheltered the affected team members in their mill in San Pedro Sula. The families have been well attended to by our personnel who have provided water, food, mattresses, clothing and blankets. But these families will need help restarting their lives.
How You Can Help
In response to this disaster, Genuine Origin has committed to:
- • Giving $.05 for every pound of Honduran coffee it sells in the month of November.
- • Roasters can also make a voluntary contribution at checkout through a new $15/box shipping option, of which, $5/box will go toward the Hurricane Eta Relief Effort. If the coffee ships FREE, you will see a handling charge of $5.
All funds that Genuine Origin collects will go toward supporting our affected team members and helping them buy basic household needs such as beds, refrigerators and stoves that were destroyed. We hope you will support this relief effort with your purchases and help our team recover. If you would like to get more involved with the recovery effort, please contact your sales representative or our customer service desk.
